Wabash National Corporation Raises $170,000 at Charity Golf Outing

More than 250 Wabash National suppliers and associates participate in event at Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex

LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Sept. 19, 2013 – Wabash National Corporation (NYSE: WNC) raised $170,000 for seven not-for-profit organizations yesterday at its annual charity golf outing, held in conjunction with the company’s annual Supplier Conference, which took place earlier today.

“Thanks to the commitment and generous support from our suppliers, this year’s charity golf outing was the most successful event in its history,” said Dick Giromini, president and chief executive officer. “As one of the largest employers in the Lafayette area, Wabash National is proud to support and work with local and national agencies to sustain and promote a promising future for America’s communities.”

Representatives from the Wounded Warrior Project, Wabash Center, Special Olympics Indiana and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Lafayette received $20,000 checks at a special presentation during today’s conference at the company’s Ehrlich Innovation Center in Lafayette. James Taylor, CEO of United Way of Greater Lafayette, accepted a donation of $75,000 for his organization.

In addition, Wabash National contributed $5,000 to the United Way of Fond du Lac, Wis., and $10,000 to Read to Succeed, a community program led by United Way of Greater Lafayette, Greater Lafayette Commerce and the three local school corporations.

“The support of the United Way of Greater Lafayette and our work in the Read to Succeed partnership is tremendous,” said Taylor. “We greatly appreciate that Wabash National Corporation and its suppliers are sharing the tremendous success of their businesses with our community. It is especially encouraging to see Wabash National’s corporate success continue and grow as it is such an important engine for our local economy.”

More than 100 Wabash National suppliers supported the company’s fundraising efforts at the charity golf outing, raising $159,000 with event sponsorships and silent auction donations. Major sponsors included Alcorn Industrial, All State Fastener, Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., Goodyear Tire, Hendrickson, Hutchens Industries, Lafayette Steel, Lincoln Electric, Maxion Wheels, Meritor, Morgan Stanley, New Life Parts, Nucor Steel, Penske Corp., Royal Bank of Scotland, Sapa, Schneider Logistics, Shale Inland FDS, Shandong Special Industry Group, Steel of West Virginia, Steel Technologies, Truck-Lite, Valspar, Weldstar and Wells Fargo.

Wabash National gave an additional corporate gift of $11,000 at the close of the charity golf outing, bringing the total monies raised to $170,000.

Wabash National actively supports numerous nonprofit organizations in the community through monetary donations and in-kind volunteer hours. A few key organizations and events the company supports include Junior Achievement, Salvation Army Coats for Kids and Greenbush Industries.
