Wabash National Associate Receives Patriot Award for Supporting Associates Serving in the Indiana Guard and Reserve

Congratulations to Wabash National’s Senior Marketing Communications Manager Holly Donaldson for receiving ESGR’s Patriot Award. ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve), a U.S. Department of Defense office, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.

ESGR's Patriot Award recognizes individual supervisors for supporting citizen warriors through a wide range of measures, including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed. Donaldson was nominated for the award by Jason Vinson, senior digital marketing specialist and U.S. Air Force Reservist.

“It was my honor to nominate Holly for the Patriot Award,” Vinson said. “Since I joined Wabash National, she has created a positive work environment not only for my civilian career but also my complex and demanding military obligation. My service to the U.S. Air Force Reserves is deeply rooted in my family’s heritage of over 130 years of service spanning four generations. I can’t say enough what it means to have a supervisor and employer in Wabash National that not only is willing to help develop my civilian career but also is very accepting of me continuing my family’s military service.”

As a proud American company, Wabash National is honored to provide associates who are called to serve in the military with the benefits and support they need while deployed, and to ensure they know that their families are cared for while activated for military service. The company employs more than 300 active and veteran U.S. military servicemembers across the United States.

“Wabash National welcomes those in the military because they go beyond for each one of us,” Donaldson said. “It is our pleasure and privilege to alleviate, in some small way, the challenges they face in keeping America safe and maintaining the freedoms we enjoy. Our interest in employing those who serve is really a win-win: These model associates, characterized by their work ethic, perseverance and discipline, are one of the reasons why Wabash National is an industry leader today.”

Vinson added, “I’m excited to come to work every day because I get to be a small part of a company that is focused on breaking barriers and pushing ahead in its industry, both through industry innovations and more importantly through the complete growth of its employees.”
