Transcraft Adds Specialty Coil Hauler to Product Line

Innovative design protects freight and reduces loading time

CADIZ, Ky. ‐ Aug. 29, 2013 ‐ Transcraft Corporation, a subsidiary of Wabash National Corporation (NYSE: WNC) and a leading producer of platform trailers, today announced the addition of the Coil Hauler to its specialty trailer product line. The Coil Hauler is specifically designed to transport metal coils, providing unmatched operational efficiency, reliability and handling.

Transcraft® built upon Wabash National's 23 years of coil transport equipment experience to perfect a new bolt-together cradle system that enhances trailer reliability and longevity. The rubber-lined cradle system, with a total payload capacity of 90,000 pounds, makes the Coil Hauler capable of transporting coils up to 80 inches wide while protecting freight from edge damage that can occur with more traditional trailer designs.

In addition, with a natural, low center of gravity, the Coil Hauler makes for a smoother ride and may minimize the chance of trailer rollover.

"Transcraft has long been known as a leading manufacturer of flatbed and drop-deck trailers," said Rick Klein, general manager, Transcraft Corporation. "The design of our new Coil Hauler demonstrates the same commitment to innovation and continuous improvement that our customers expect from Transcraft."

Other design enhancements include a canopy and removable bulkhead. The new canopy design, constructed of Wabash National's DuraPlate® composite material, protects freight while reducing loading and unloading times by approximately 30 minutes. The removable bulkhead and optional load bars provide backhaul versatility, allowing customers to haul multiple types of freight with a single piece of equipment.
